FLAT DESCRIPTION
This spacious flat is located in Zumikon by Zürich. It has an ideal layout with a divided public and private zone.
Before: When you entered the flat, you came to a corridor that did not have enough of light. My idea was to get there a bit more of the light and enable a view to the living part. We have removed a wall between a dining and a kitchen. We have shortened the wall dividing the kitchen from the entrance and we put an opened bookcase at the head of the kitchen furniture. Through the bookcase is more light coming to the entrace and the whole space is more opened and flexible.
The dining is attached to the kitchen and as in the flat in Witikon, the bookcase works like a separation of the kitchen furniture and as an "useful decoration" by dining (for books, plants, etc).
The living, dining and kitchen area are attached to a big balcony. The direct entrance from the kitchen and a big window at the side gives this space a lot of light and lightness.
This flat has 3 bedrooms. For these I have designed a luxurious bathroom with space for everything: for a free standing bathtub, for a shower, for a double washbasin and of course, for a toilet. For a guests, there is a small, but very nice toilet at the entrance. It has a very practical position in the flat.
At the entrance, we decided to place one built-in wardrobe and one big free standing wardrobe for coats and shoes.
The whole flat is in light tones and colours. White corian kitchen corresponds whitish parquette. The bathroom and the toilet are in warm pastel colours. In the wardrobes, there is a built-in light. The whole flat has a very refreshing and positive atmosphere.
