PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Villa is located in the calm part of Šumperk . The area of the garden is 1340 sqm and it is south orientated. The main entrance is from the north.
The villa of a professor was built at the beginning of 20th century, probably in 1928.The first reconstruction is dated in 70s, the second in 2007. Although the interior was completely rebuilt in order to maximize it, it does not satisfy client’s needs. There is not enough space for growing family. This is why client requiers extensions of the villa: winter garden as an extension of living room, bigger garage with another floor where the main bedroom with bathroom will be placed. The client plays football and he would like to have a separate garden house with exterior kitchen where he and his wife can grill with the friends- football players.The garden house serves as occasional host suite as well.
The aim of the design approach was to create separate simple volumes that will respect villa as the domain. The appaerance of the winter garden and garage building is similar as they are with the villa one complex.Garden house is a separate unit so its appearance is different- timber cladding.
Ground floor contains two garage places. One is typical garage, the second one is ‘‘fast parking’’ - the door is from perforated metal and it is supposed to be opened occasionally. In the back of this garage is a separate space for garden equipment. First floor is connected by glazed bridge with the villa. The glass facing to the north is opaque and to the south is transparent. There is a small hall, master bedroom with bathroom and closet. The bedroom orientation is south-east.
Winter garden as an extension of the living room should work as a calm area appropriate for reading and relaxing. The client requiered work place as well. When the door is closed living room is divided in two rooms- one can be occupied by children and one by parents.
Garden house with an exterior kitchen is appropriate for summer parties. There is a fire place in the kitchen. Client wanted also sauna and guest suite. In the main room is small kitchen. In the north of the house there is a room for bikes. The garden house works also as a barrier to the neighbour’s garden.
